Solid, Flake or Metallic: Choosing the Right Epoxy Floor

All three systems protect your concrete. The difference is in how they look, how they feel underfoot and where they work best.

When people call us about an epoxy floor, the first question is usually which finish to choose. All three of our systems start with the same step, properly prepared concrete, and all three give you a sealed, durable surface. Where they differ is in look, texture and the kind of space they suit best.

Solid epoxy coating

A solid-color coating is clean and simple. It seals the concrete, stops the dust and gives the room a bright, glossy finish that reflects light.

It is a great fit for workshops, storage rooms, basements and commercial spaces where you want a smooth surface that is easy to sweep and mop.

Flake coating

Flake is the most popular garage floor for a reason. Decorative flakes are broadcast into the epoxy and sealed under a clear topcoat, adding color, depth and a light texture.

  • Better grip when the floor is wet
  • Hides dust, sand and tire marks between cleanings
  • Dozens of looks from 17 flake blends

Metallic epoxy

Metallic floors are poured and worked by hand, creating flowing, marble-like movement with a pearl shimmer. No two are the same.

They shine in living spaces, showroom garages, salons, stores and restaurants: anywhere the floor should be part of the design.
